Re: Applying for Membership « Result #4 on Mar 22, 2007, 6:06pm »
Hey guys, I've signed up (and yes, I hear Darth Vader's theme in my head), but no approval yet on my account. No huge hurries, but just wanted to let you know I had signed up and you can remove this once I've been approved.

If you submit a request to join the board, and it takes more than a day or so for approval, please leave a message in here telling me (admin, or GAFH) to get the hell on the ball and approve you already (that is, if you're over 18).

Now, where the heck did that evil smiley get to...? >:)
If you've got a set of icons I can attach to the board, feel free to let me know. I'm still in the overhaul process, and it'd be easy as pie to add them (already found the code on how to do that, but I didn't like their smileys very much).
Not necessarily rules per se... « Result #7 on Oct 29, 2006, 6:05am »
These aren't rules of the board, but more suggestions on the managing of content on this board.
Much of the fanfic posted will be in the form of one-shots and little vignettes. There will also be captioning and other images.
Fanfic is encouraged! Whole, multi-chaptered stories are welcomed, as long as each chapter isn't horribly long. Please put long posts behind the "spoiler" tag, to shorten it somewhat.
Some stories may just be too big to manage on a medium such as proboards (wishful thinking?) If that's the case, members should divide their story into chapters and post each one on it's own, or are welcomed to create a thread linking to their story on an archive site, and providing commentary about the story, summaries, content warning, pairing, discussion of characterization, plot, etc.
If you are posting fanfic, please remember the rule to indicate Pairing first, and those other rules.
(I don't think there're too many rules, after all, and the ones that are in place are quite necessary so all can enjoy using this forum.)
Welcome to the Guest Area! « Result #9 on Oct 28, 2006, 10:21am »
Thanks for coming by! You're welcomed to post here. Please keep the content of your posts appropriate to proboards' rules (13+). If you think you may want to join, please read the Board Rules, and apply for membership.
As a Guest, you can also read the section "By the Book: Board Rules," to see if this is something you want to participate in.
Once you've joined, you'll be able to view the remainder of the board.
Additional: This board was originally created to focus on slash fiction of Robert Culp characters. It's now being overhauled to be focused on characters and pairings from the TV show "The Greatest American Hero." It's equally dedicated to hetero and slash discussion, media and fan fiction. Don't let the URL fool you. I was unable to change that, without removing the entire board, and it's already got some very fun content. It's not simply slash, as the URL may indicate. If you're all about the het, then you're most welcomed to join in (if you're 18 or older, of course).
Board Rules « Result #10 on Oct 28, 2006, 7:55am »
Please note: Since this board is for members 18+ only, the vast majority of it is not viewable to guests.
1. You must be aged 18 or older to join.
2. If you are pairing people in a story or an image, please indicate PAIRING in the subject line (Spelled out, not abbreviated), SUBJECT/TITLE, RATING. It's important to indicate PAIRING first, so in "Most Recent," it'll be obvious and the person can choose or not to go to it immediately.
3. You must include Content Warning Codes in the initial post of your fanfic. You can learn more about the Ratings and Content Warning Codes once you join. If you don't have enough room in the subject header to include all of the above, at least put pairing and title of the story, then rating and content warning in the first part of the first post.
4. This board includes adult material that some may find offensive. There are categories specifically hetero or slash. If you don't like one of those types of adult material, then don't go there. Be aware that people's avatars, banners, personal text, etc will contain material from one or the other, or both. One of the main purposes of this board is to give people freedom to express their love of GAH smut any way they want to, with the appropriate warnings, ratings and pairings in their fanfic.
5. No fanfic will be permitted that features a real-life person. (You can feature yourself, but none of the actors and crew from GAH, or anyone else from the GAH world, is allowed.) This board is for discussion of fictional characters. Any disrespect toward the GAH cast and crew will get the offender banned forever from this board, after one request to change or remove it, and one warning if it's not done so within an appropriate amount of time.
6. If what you're posting is not work-safe, please use the spoiler tag. It may not be a spoiler, but I couldn't change the text on the tag, so it's a good type of "cut" to put naughty things (text OR images) behind. You can always use it for spoilers too, of course. Just put "NWS" before the cut, so people can click on it when they're not at work.
As the majority of this board is not viewable to anyone but members, you have free reign to say what you wish, just remember the above rules. A member may be enamored of one pairing, character or cast member, but be totally squicked by another. If you don't like the pairing of certain characters, simply choose not to visit that category, section or fan fiction.
Please visit this thread fairly regularly to see if there're any updates, since this board is still being overhauled.
The rules are not subject to debate or interpretation, so "Reply" is disabled in this section.
